Do you own or operate a purpose driven business? Would you like to?
Is running a sustainable business important to you?
If so, you may want to consider whether the legal structure of your business is in alignment with your vision, direction, and purpose.
You may have heard of benefit companies, Certified B-Corps, ESG Reporting. What does all of it mean? Here’s an opportunity to learn all about them, what they truly are, and how they can reflect the passion and direction that you want in your organization.
There are plenty of questions surrounding this expansive subject of sustainable, purpose driven business. What do I need to get started? Are these companies for profit or non-profit? How are they taxed? Will this affect my ability to get financing? Can I form my business in a way that is in alignment with my heart, purpose and intuition? Can I change my structure if I’m already formed, up, and running?
At the CBC April Business Growth webinar, Attorney John Leemhuis will be answering these questions, as well as providing a history of legal structures since the industrial revolution and how they’ve evolved.
John has been practicing business law his entire career. As a partner, he ran the business law department of a mid-sized firm in Pennsylvania where he began his practice in 1991. In 2018 he started his own law practice – Leemhuis Legal, PLLC, where he continues to focus on business law, but with a focus on working with purpose driven businesses and entrepreneurs, benefit companies, Certified B Corps, and nonprofit organizations to help them succeed.
He serves clients with a goal of helping them thrive by offering significant experience along with innovative solutions and engagements. He is particularly driven to foster growth in the emerging areas of social entrepreneurship and mission-driven business.
He counsels clients on their business life-cycle – from entity selection and formation, through growth via debt or equity financing, to the purchase/sale of the business.
John brings a unique, holistic and conscious approach to his work with clients as he is also a certified yoga teacher and formerly owned a yoga studio!
John is licensed to practice and actively operates in Colorado and Pennsylvania.
